Server Setup

DataBase

The release file includes the database.sql file which is a SQL script that contains all the database objects for the solution. Run the SQL script in SQL Server Management Studio. After running the script create a new user with access to the database to be able to use in the solution web.config files.

SharePoint Solutions

Their are two SharePoint packages. FastProjectSite.wsp include the site definition for the individual project site and FastPMOSite.wsp includes the site definition for the project management office site. The must be added to the SharePoint solution store and then deployed to your SharePoint web application

stsadm -o addsolution -filename "FastProjectSite.wsp"
stsadm -o deploysolution -name FastProjectSite.wsp -allowgacdeployment -immediate

stsadm -o addsolution -filename "FastPMOSite.wsp"
stsadm -o deploysolution -name FastPMOSite.wsp -allowgacdeployment -immediate

Reporting

Deploy the website located in the ReportsSite subdirectory to an IIS web server. It can be on your SharePoint web server or other web server. These report urls will be referenced by the PMO site.
Modify the FastSharePoint connection string in the web.config file with the user and password you created in the database:

<add name="FastSharePoint" connectionString="Data Source=win-395jtnc8hu1\sqlexpress;Initial Catalog=FastSharePoint;User Id=User;Password=Password" />

SharePoint Web.config

Add a connection string to the connectionstrings section in the web.config of your SharePoint web application. For example the web.config of a SharePoint web application running off port 80 would be located at C:\inetpub\wwwroot\wss\VirtualDirectories\80.

<add name="FastSharePoint" connectionString="Data Source=win-395jtnc8hu1\sqlexpress;Initial Catalog=FastSharePoint;User Id=User;Password=Password" />

Alex, I wouldn't assume so, since its highly unlikely that we'll have access to IIS config files, even as administrators.

Hello everybody, I would like to know if this kind of solutions can be used with Sharepoint Online from Microsoft Cloud Services.

Thanks in advance,
